Background
I have over 16 years clinical experience within my private practice and other organisations.
I began with the National Childbirth Trust where I worked as a volunteer with new-parents-to-be in antenatal classes, subsequently extending this role to provide post-natal support.
I later trained to become a counsellor and then worked for a bereavement agency with families who had suffered loss, and for a counselling service in an NHS Trust, working with mental health issues including depression. I have also worked with individuals who have been affected by suicide or sudden death.
I have worked a great deal with work-related problems and have been able to draw on my original background in the commercial world where I have experience as a Manager within the publishing industry.
I regard ongoing training as essential to my personal and professional development so I regularly attend workshops and training sessions to keep myself up-to-date with current trends and thinking in counselling and psychotherapy.
